Chapter 1 of my future (hopefully) novel

This is just a clip from me and my friend Elaine's hopefully novel, Jolene. Chapter 1: Should I? No. Deep breaths. It’s not working. I don’t know what to do. A drop of sweat slowly drips down my forehead; landed on my eyebrow. “Jolene, do you want to or not? We will pay for your University and life expense,” Mr Waterloo repeated, “and also, it’s very easy. All you have to do is wear the chip for a year and report to us your daily life.” “I’m...” I say, still not sure whether or not I should. “You can trust us, Jolene.” “I know but..,” I look at my parents. “It’s ok if you don’t do it,” said my mom, tears slipped down her face uncontrollably , “we can live without the scholarship. I’m working on doing...doing some j-jobs to pay for our--” “But then your daughter can’t go to university. House cleaning can’t pay for both,” cuts Mr. Waterloo, looking directly at my mom with his head tilting down, above his sunglasses. It was true. There was no po...

The Garden

The Garden The alluring garden made Amy think about the times when she had played with her mom. There was an elegant fountain  that sprayed water into a gigantic pool of water, which hundreds of birds come everyday and party in it. Beyond the fountain, the garden was filled with trees.  Apple trees, plum trees, Cherry blossoms; it was filled with beautiful trees that could last a lifetime to explore and identify their names. Amy loved the lake beyond the gardens. The garden also had a big supply of flowers, which Amy tried to memorize. African lilies, Amaryllis Hippeastrum, Amazon lily, the list could go on forever and ever, and when it ends, your eyes would eventually have tired out and you were probably snoring. This garden was the kind of garden that you would remember for your entire life, because of the warm summer smells, the touch of the petals after the rain, and the taste of the freshly picked apples would make you drool.

Part of KM2JE = a novel wannabe

Part of KM2JE: Mackenzie's View “Wake up Mackenzie!” screamed my sister, Maddie. I looked at my alarm clock. 5:00am. “Seriously? It’s 5 am! What’s wrong with you? Go to sleep!” I screamed at my sister. “Be quiet!” she whispered. “There’s someone outside in our backyard!” “What? If this is one of your tricks, I’m going  to kill you!” “I don’t do any tricks on you! You’re the one who does tricks on me to post on your facebook account!” She had a point. Maddie has never done any tricks on me, only I do them. But someone in our backyard? Probably not. Even if there were any people in our backyard, it would be our parents. But then, they’re asleep. Maybe there was someone out there? “Fine,” I said. “Who’s out there?” “Three men, talking about something,” replied Maddie. Definitely not my mom or dad, but maybe my dad’s friends? But why would my dad’s friends be in my backyard? “Let’s check it out” said Maddie. I quickly obeyed and got out of my bed. ...

Scars

Scars was written by me in late 2016/early 2017.... so don't judge. Scars by: Grace J Scarlet was just a young 17 year old girl from Victoria, Canada. She was one of the millions of people suffering from the deadly disease of cancer. Scarlet was exceptionally beautiful, with flowing blond hair and bright eyes of emerald green, she could easily get anyone to like her.             “Scarlet, it will be okay,” says my mom, crying. I am not okay. I will be receiving surgery in about 5 minutes. Only 52% of the people who took this surgery survived. I will probably not be considered one of those people.             “Are you feeling well? Do you want a drink?” asks my dad, putting his hand on my shoulder.             “Yes dad, I’m fine.” I am clearly lying. In just a matter of one hour my parents and I will be able ...
